JONES, Circuit Judge. Defendants Sullivan County, Mike Gardner, and Lynn Hawkins appeal a jury verdict in favor of plaintiff John Doe for injuries sustained while incarcerated. Plaintiff in turn appeals directed verdicts for the remaining defendants and pretrial orders limiting evidence and denying his motion to add new defendants. For the reasons that follow, we reverse and remand for further proceedings.
